Clark Kent’s recent exodus in Warworld and the successor to his son Jon Kent as Earth Superman have led the fan base to a disturbing theory: the first, original Superman is meant to die. This is where action comics writer Philip Kennedy Johnson steps in.
According to the community’s assumptions, if DC Comics Clark Kent banished it’s just because she plans to replace him with Jon, that new Superman that recently came out. Those speculations about DC’s seedy business plans were erased by the intervention of Johnson, who spoke on the matter on his Twitter profile.
The author stated that he cannot say exactly what is happening so as not to ruin what we will see in the near future, but definitely that Fanbase will not be revealed. Johnson loves Clark Kent as much as he loves the community, and Superman is forever.
In Action Comics # 1036, which opens The Warworld Saga, the man of steel ventured onto the planet of the galactic tyrant Mongul and entrusted the earth to his son Jon. This series therefore seems to be following the path of Future State Superman: World of War, an alternate future in which Clark comes locked up and forced to fight endless in the Mongul Arena.
