The official website for the anime adaptation of the four-part manga Bocchi the rock! by Aki Hamaji released a teaser video revealing a lead actor, staff member, key visual, and launch in 2022.
Yoshino Aoyama will play the main character Hitori “Bocchi-chan” (“Lonely”) Gotō. Keiichirō Saitō (ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept. Regards) directs the anime for CloverWorks. Erika Yoshida (Lupine III: Part IV) deals with the composition of the series and the script. Kerorira (Director of Animation for Wonder Egg Priority) does the character designs for the series.
The story of the manga follows Hitori “Bocchi-chan” (“Lonely”) Gotō, a high school girl starting to play the guitar because his dream is to join a band, but it’s so much shy of not even having a boyfriend. But his dream could come true after thatMeeting with Nijika Ijichi, a girl who plays the drums and is looking for a guitarist for the band he plays in.
Hamaji published the manga on Manga Time Kirara Max in December 2017. Houbunsha published the third volume in February.
As for the new anime of 2022, we find the films Goodbye Don Glees, The Imaginary by Studio Ponoc (ex Ghibli) and Bubble by the author of Death Note and director of The Attack of the Giants.
