Marvel Comics is announcing a new regular series from Carnage, the symbiotic red that debuted in live action as the Venom villain this year (check out our review of Venom The Fury of Carnage here). The comic series with the simple title “Carnage” will be released in 2022 on the occasion of 30th anniversary of the symbiote.
To tell the new adventures of the villain, the screenwriter Ram V will take care of together with the artist Francesco Manna. The series kicks off in February 2022 with a one-shot titled Carnage Forever, and will separate the symbiote from its historical host, Serial killer Cletus Kasady.
“This Carnage story is sure to be the worst thing I’ve ever written“promises Ram V.”The killer symbiote has undergone significant changes lately and I’ve been given the opportunity to do something new and creative with the character, but also to tell stories you’d expect from a Carnage comic. It’s my kind of horror – as scary in its effects as it’s shown on the page. We are talking about a demonic and terrifying slaughter, ready to discover the real limits of its capabilities“.
Carnage # 1 is slated for release March 2, 2022 in the United States. However, this won’t be the first time Carnage is separated from Cletus Kasady: In the final arc of Dan Slott’s Spider-Man run, the union between Carnage and Norman Osborn gave birth to the Red Goblin, whose actions led to the events recounted in Amazing Spider Man 800.
