On the official page for the anime adaptation of the multimedia project Sabiiro no armor (Rusted armor) the first promotional video for the project was released. Not only did the video reveal more members of the cast, but it also went viral because of its questionable animation quality. The new members of the voting cast include:
- Kentarou Araki like Tsurukubi, Takato Nagata as Hotarubi, Yuuchirou hirata like Kurohyo, SPI like Deku, Yuuki Kamisato like Ageha and Tsubasa Sakiyama like Hototogisu.
The series is set to premiere in Japan in January 2022, but despite the fact that the first promotional video has already been revealed, production details are yet to be announced. This multimedia project started with a series of plays that debuted in 2017. Usually theater projects are based on an existing anime or manga, but with the project of Sabiiro no armor, the piece started first.
Later the artist Hagi started a manga adaptation in the magazine Monthly comic gene in January 2019, and the publisher Kadokawa published the second compiled volume in January 2020. Later, in May 2021, Kairi shimotsuki released a new manga called Sabiiro without armor: Reimei (Rusted armor: daybreak).
Summary of Sabiiro no Armor
The project focuses on the relationship between Magoichi, the leader of the Saika Ikki mercenary group, and the Sengoku-era warlord Oda Nobunaga. Taiki Sato of Fantastics from Exile Tribe will repeat the role of Magoichi from the piece of the multimedia project for the anime. Voice actor Toshiki Masuda will also repeat his role as Oda Nobunaga in the play.
