Good smile company, the Japanese company that makes Nendoroid and anime and manga-inspired action figures, was founded by two former employees because of the “Creation of explicit collector’s products depicting minors”, and accused by them of tax evasion and embezzlement.
Guy Brand and James Young-sik Kim, two former employees of the company, provided all the documents and formalized the lawsuit in California, USA, and Good Smile is now called on to defend itself. As reported on the document sharing site Scribd, Brand and Kim had said they were “disgusted and against the production of illegal and morally questionable items” and were Fired from the company shortly after the transfer request.
Good Smile called the allegations “false and defamatory” and said they had fired the two former employees because they were with a third person They stole information and documents from the company with the intention of starting a new business for personal gain. The process is currently ongoing and further information will be announced in the coming months.
