Chapter 317 of My Hero Academia is available on MangaPlus and shows Deku’s unexpected change. After spending dozens of chapters choosing between the hero and vigilante path, the protagonist finally seems to have found his dimension, and with this new appointment we have found out how it is really seen by the citizens.
Chapter 317 continues with a Pro Heroes reunion, narrowly escaped the attack of Chapter 316. The explosion of the mansion in Haibori Forest left no victims, but it still obliterated any possible trace that the heroes of All for One could have traced back. Mt. Lady, Edgeshot, Endeavor, Hawks, Best Jeanist and Kamui Woods are discussing this, and it turns out that the situation is getting more complex every day, also due to the abandonment of many cops and pro heroes, including Death Arms.
As the Pro Heroes search for a way to protect the city and Deku, All Might writes a message to Hawks saying so he and Midoriya have already met and captured the second All for One mercenary. Surprisingly, the fight seems to go on for a few moments and Midoriya seems to have literally destroyed her opponent, who is shown unconscious and wrapped in the vines of Black Whip.
All Might asks Midroiya to slow down and rest, and then the time has come we experience the real change in the protagonist. Angry and frustrated with what is happening in Japan, Deku begs All Might to stop following him, telling him that his power is now the maximum of the former peace symbol.
When Deku is looking for new clues, Stain can be seen behind a wall, who is ready to return to the place after fleeing Tartarus. Meanwhile it is possible to hear the thoughts of some citizens at night, talk about a fearsome hero who watches over the city. A hero who appears quietly, with multiple quirks, with dozens of scars hidden by dirt and blood, who appears in sudden moments to help people in need. That hero is Dekuwho is portrayed as a real vigilante on the last record in the rain, with his costume torn and Black Whip’s claws running down his body.
