In this year’s fourth issue of the magazine Young champion Retsu from Akita Shoten announced that the manga will be written and illustrated by Yasuyuki Kosaka, Houkago Teibou Nisshi ((Diary of our days at the breakwater), will be resumed in the next edition, scheduled for April 20 in Japan. The manga has been on hold since December 2020.
For his part, Kosaka began to publish the manga in the magazine Young champion Retsu from the publisher Akita Shoten The publisher released the sixth compiled volume in March 2020, followed by the seventh on December 18 in Japan. The piece inspired a twelve-episode anime adaptation produced by the studios. Doga Kobo, Headed by Takaharu ookuma and scripts written by Fumihiko Shimo, released in April 2020. So far there is no evidence of a second season.
Synopsis by Houkago Teibou Nisshi
Hina Tsurugi and her family have just moved to a picturesque coastal town. Hoping to enjoy the view of the peaceful sea, Hina meets a girl named Yuuki Kuroiwa, a senior citizen at her new school, who invites her to go fishing with her. Hina picks up an octopus that falls on her; Fearing insects and large creatures, he panics and asks Yuuki to take it away from him. Yuuki sees this as an opportunity to force Hina to join the school’s Breakwater Club, a club where members collect, catch, and eat various types of marine life as their main activity.
Although her attempts to refuse to band together fail, Hina slowly discovers the hidden joy of fishing. Her attitude towards sport is changing and now she’s looking forward to all the delicious experiences she can partake in with her clubmates.
