During the year ONE PIECE Eiichiro Oda made sure that the events of the narrative deprived certain characters of the story, some of whom even played fairly important roles. But why will the sensei do everything possible not to kill the protagonists of his masterpiece?
Oda recently announced this through an interview for Fuji TV An important person is about to die who entered the Mugiwara ship. Even if we don’t currently know who will lose their lives among all the characters who got on board the Thousand Sunny, it’s hard to believe that the Sensei can even rob one of the story’s protagonists. During an interview for Weekly Shueisha Playboy As early as 2007, the author explained the reason:
“”Raising the dead is not a given, is it? If a writer chose to bring him back to life, he should never have killed him. My characters won’t dieeven if they are in a desperate situation. Plus, I’ve hated this resurrection of characters since I was a kid. So I thought, “One of the reasons the writer revived this character might be because he was popular.” So I’m not going to do what I doubted as a kid, just what I wanted from a mangaka.“”
A clear and concise answer that sums up the will of Eiichiro Oda staying in tune with the child who was once just a reader. And then again, did you know this anecdote? Let us know with a comment below.
