The promotional card market Pokémon is very active and in recent years the hunt for rarer cards has increased. Those that will rise in price over time are undoubtedly the so-called “promos” or those limited edition cards that are only available on certain occasions.
In Japan The Pokémon Company frequently and willingly publishes advertising cards on the occasion of some collaborations with a wide variety of companies, one of which is with Garigarikun, a brand known for wooden popsicles. In fact, the company was hired to make some lucky sticks that can be swapped out for one Zarude promo card, the same that you can admire at the end of the news. To give you an idea of the value of this Zarude V variant, you should know that the sticks are sought after by collectors for a a number between 200 and 400 euros.
In both cases, a user tried to hit the jackpot, and after forging 25 sticks, sent them to the company to redeem their 25 promo cards. Apparently, their plan didn’t work out when Garigarikun immediately noticed the fraud and filed a complaint with the police. This is yet another attempt to damage the franchise that luckily has been foiled in the bud. Some Pokémon cards are invaluable. Just remember, Pikachu Illustrator auctioned off for $ 230,000 last July.
