In this year's issue # 8 of the magazine Be-love from the publisher Kodansha it was announced that Nodoka Shinomaru (Udon no Kuni no Kiniro Kemari) will start the publication of a new manga titled Koi Janai kara Namae wo Tsukete, in the next edition of the magazine, on July 31.

Udon no Kuni no Kiniro Kemari

The magazine described this new manga as "the story of a proud woman who at the age of 34 is forced to restart her life." The story will focus on Tsukasa Date, a woman who loses her job, her home and her love life and who meets a mysterious and handsome man while walking aimlessly.

Shinomaru is also the author of the manga Udon no Kuni no Kiniro Kemari, which he published in the magazine Comic bunch from the publisher Shinchosha between 2012 and 2019. The publisher compiled the work in a total of twelve volumes.

The manga inspired a twelve-episode anime adaptation produced by the studios. Liden Films, under the direction of Seiki Takuno and scripts written by Natsuko Takahashi, released in October 2016.

Synopsis of Udon no Kuni no Kiniro Kemari

The story centers on the complicated but normal life of Souta Tawara, a young designer living in Tokyo who decides to return to his hometown of Kagawa after learning of his father's death and taking a break from the city. On his return, he sadly learns that his family's restaurant has gone bankrupt during his absence and, as he remembers his childhood, Souta enters the establishment and discovers a boy sleeping in a pot.

Souta discovers that he is, in fact, a tanuki who has inhabited Kagawa for years and decides to adopt him under the name Poco.
