In this year’s issue # 12 of the magazine Evening from the publisher Kodansha it was revealed that the manga written by Takao Yaguchi and illustrated by Katsumi Tatsuzawa, Versus Gyoshin-san! It will end in two chapters.

The work will have a pause from one edition, so it will resume in edition # 14 of this year of the magazine. Therefore, if there were no more delays, the manga would be ending on July 7. Yaguchi and Tatsuzawa began publishing the manga in Kodansha’s Evening magazine in 2018, and the publisher published the sixth compilation volume on April 23.

The work is a spin-off of the Takao Yaguchi manga, Tsurikichi Sanpei, which was published in the magazine Weekly Shonen Magazine from the Kodansha publishing house between 1973 and 1983, with a total of 57 compilation volumes. This manga inspired a 109-episode anime adaptation produced by the studios. Nippon Animation and released in April 1980.

Synopsis of Versus Gyoshin-san!

The story is a spin-off from the Tsurikichi Sanpei manga and focuses on Gyoushin Ayukawa, the mentor, rival, and best friend of the manga’s original protagonist, Sanpei. The story of the original manga centers on Mihira Sanpei, a happy and optimistic boy who, when it comes to fishing, becomes a very serious person. The village in which he lives is, in fact, a very natural environment that provides him with quite a few challenges when it comes to this activity.
