A leak confirmed that the manga was written and illustrated by Akihito Tsukushi, Made in the abysswill peak with the publication of his tenth volume.

Tsukushi started publishing the manga through the magazine Web comic gamma from the publisher Takeshobo in October 2012. The publisher published the ninth volume on July 27th.

The work inspired a thirteen-episode anime adaptation produced by the studios. Kinema Citrus, Led by Masayuki Kojima and scripts from Hideyuki Kurata, released in July 2017, followed by two compilation films.

Synopsis of Made in Abyss

The Abyss … an open abyss that extends deep into the earth and is full of mysterious creatures and relics of bygone times. How was it formed? What’s in the background? Countless courageous people known as “excavators” have tried to solve the abyss’s mysteries by descending fearlessly into the dark. The best and bravest diggers, the White Whistles, are celebrated as legends by those who prefer to stay on the surface.

The daughter of a missing White Whistle, Riko strives to be like her mother and explore the depths of the Abyss. However, since it is a red whistle, it can only explore the top layer. But an encounter with a mysterious robot without memories marks the beginning of the adventure downwards, without knowing that the reality in the Abyss will be the more difficult the further it descends.
