On the official page for the manga written and illustrated by Azu, Tejina Senpai ((Magical senpai) the cover of the eighth and final compiled volume of the work was unveiled, which will be released in Japan on March 5th. The volume contains the following summary: «What a failure in hindsight! What a failure! A magical club with a lot of strange memories. I’m in love with Valentine’s Day chocolate tricks. The wizard is now satisfied with the magic. Check out the final volume in this story of comedy and magic!».

Azu began publishing the manga in the magazine Weekly young magazine from the publisher Kodansha in February 2016 and finalized in February 2021. The publisher released the seventh compilation volume in July 2020 in Japan, while the eighth and final is scheduled for publication on March 5th.

The piece inspired a twelve-episode anime adaptation produced by the studios. EYE FILMS, Headed by Fumiaki Usui and scripts from Rintarou Ikeda, published in July 2019. Additionally a spin-off manga with the title Isekai Senpai – Tejina Senpai and Kono Sekai de mo Ponkotsu na You Desu has been published since November 2019.

Synopsis by Tejina Senpai

An unmotivated newbie begins their new tenure at Tanenashi Academy and seeks an association that requires minimal attendance to meet their needs. Then he comes across the Magic Club classroom, and inside, a cute older student is practicing her magic tricks. He suffers from stage fright, which causes him to fail in his actions, and finds himself in the most embarrassing situations. Although the newbie has little interest in a club run by an incompetent wizard, as a new member he is involved and experiences all sorts of awkward moments with his eccentric mentor.
