On the official site for the manga written and illustrated by Tatsuya Endo, Spy x Family, a commemorative illustration was published celebrating that the work obtained the first place in the awards Comic Award 2020, of TSUTAYA.
In the three previous editions, the winning works were:
- First edition (2017): Yakusoku no Neverland, written by Kaiu Shirai and illustrated by Posuka Demizu.
- Second edition (2018): Blue Period, written and illustrated by Tsubasa Yamaguchi.
- Third edition (2019): Jujutsu Kaisen, written and illustrated by Gege Akutami.
For his part, Tatsuya began publishing the manga through the website. Shonen Jump Plus from the publisher Shueisha in March 2019. The publisher published the fourth compilation volume on May 13.
The manga series was awarded in the most recent edition of the list Kono Manga ga Sugoi! as one of the most recommended works for male readers. In addition, he has also received other awards, as well as a nomination for 13 Taishou Manga, where he got second place. Additionally, it was recently announced that the manga had exceeded 2.4 million copies in circulation, bringing together both paper and digital copies.
Synopsis of SPY x FAMILY
The story centers on a spy who must “build a family” in order to fulfill a mission, without realizing that the girl he adopts as his daughter and the woman who agrees to be in a fake marriage with him are a reader of minds and an assassin, respectively.
