Neru: Way of the Martial Artist tells the story of Neruma Isami, a little boy who lives away from the village alone in the company of his grandfather. He has been standing up since he was born the way of martial arts: his whole life is dedicated to this. But suddenly his grandfather, a great martial arts expert, disappears into thin air and leaves his beloved grandson a book that serves as a guide for his individual training.

During his senior year in middle school, Neru realizes that his life is fine different from his colleagues. While children his age focus on mass sports, studying, or interpersonal relationships, Neruma only thinks of martial arts and has no one to argue with. But one day his life takes a drastic turn.

Neru encounters a group of tyrants who are molesting a young girl; Immediately he shows his skills and knocks down the thugs. However, when he pursues her, he loses his precious book. The girl whose name is Akebi Haiba, she collects it with interest and waits until late in the evening to give it back to him.

But when the two meet, Akebi reveals himself the opponent Neru always dreamed of. The girl is very skilled in martial arts, and by knocking out Neru, she reveals that she knows her grandfather. Finally, she leads the protagonist to a high school that is attended by her and the best fighters. Now Neru’s adventure can begin! The second chapter of Neru: Way of the Martial Artist will appear on MangaPlus on Sunday July 11th at 6:00 p.m.
