On the official page for the film project Uchuu Senkan Yamato 2205: Aratanaru Tabidachi (Space battleship Yamato 2205: A new journey) became a new promotional video of the project for the first film entitled Uchuu Senkan Yamato 2205: Aratanaru Tabidachi: Zenshou – TAKE OFF. The video shows the character Daeder, played by Masuo’s lover and his ship, the “Great PleaidesThe film will hit theaters in Japan on October 8th.

This film project is the latest production in the multimedia franchise of Uchuu Senkan Yamato and it is divided into two parts, similarly titled to the special programs that aired in Japan in 1979. It is worth noting that the compilation movie Uchuu Senkan Yamato to Iu Jidai: Seireki 2202-nen no Sentaku, was released in Japanese theaters on June 11, 2021. In fact, a special video was released for the first 22 minutes of this tape.

Production team

  • Kenji yasuda (Macross Delta, Shugo Chara !, Noein – Mou Hitori no Kimi e) is responsible for directing the anime in the studios Satellite light.
  • Harutoshi Fukui is responsible for writing and monitoring the scripts.
  • Nobuteru Yuki is responsible for the original character design while Junichiro Tamamori Yes Yasuchi Ishizu take care of mechanical constructions.
  • Akira miyagawa is responsible for composing the soundtrack.
Uchuu Senkan Yamato 2205: Aratanaru Tabidachi

General synopsis by Uchuu Senkan Yamato

The story takes place in the distant future, in the year 2199 the earth was bombed by radioactive asteroids from the planet Gamilus, which is why mankind is threatened with extinction. In the orbit of Mars, the cadets Kodai Susumu and Shima Daisuke find a crashed spaceship with a message from the queen of the planet Iscandar, in which she offers to help the people of Earth by providing them with a blueprint for building an engine it enables them to travel faster than light and so reach the Sunzar system on which the planet Iscandar is located in less than a year. On this planet, people will have access to the Cosmos Cleaner, which will remove radiation from the earth and restore the planet in no time. The engine is being built and installed on the battleship Yamato, which will begin the journey full of mishaps.
