Synopsis of Uchi no Shishou wa Shippo ga Nai

The fantasy story takes place in Japan’s Taisho era (1912-1926). Follow Mameda, a shapeshifting raccoon girl who dreams of becoming human. Mameda transforms into a pretty, black-haired human girl and sets off for the bustling city of Osaka. However, people soon notice Mameda’s disguise, and a beautiful woman ruthlessly tells the distraught Mameda, “Go back the way you came.” It turns out that this woman named Bunko is a supernatural creature herself who turned into a rakugo (comic story) narrator. Mameda asks Bunko to become her teacher and teach her how to play a human.
