Trigun is one of the classic anime of the 90s and 2000s, which many viewers still remember with nostalgia, although its success doesn’t match that of industry greats like Naruto and ONE PIECE. However, the image of Vash the Stampede, the blond humanoid Typhoon cloaked in his red cloak, does not leave the collective imagination.
Studio Orange has been working for some time on Trigun: Stampede, a remake of the story that is also being overseen by Yasuhiro Nightow, the author of the original manga. The trailer with the new Vash gave viewers a way to understand what awaits them in the near future, from a slightly different world to a significant change for the protagonist. but which prompted Studio Orange to work on Trigun? That explains Kiyotaka Waki, producer of the Japanese animation studio.
“It was in 2017 when I got an offer to work on Trigun. It was before Studio Orange’s first contract for a series, Land of the Lustrous, aired. I started my career at Madhouse, so of course I knew Trigun. While I was there I saw the production of the film Trigun Badlands Rumble, so I knew how big this title was. Also, it was the title produced by Masao Maruyama, who I consider a bit of my mentor. He’s a legendary producer who has supported the anime industry since its inception, and his influence in so many areas is immeasurable. That’s why I believed it The production of Trigun would have been of great importance to Orange Studioso that CG animation can continue to grow in the decades to come.β
“With every title, I’m always very concerned during the production process. But this fear fuels my desire to explore the infinite possibilities of expression. By combining all the skills and knowledge we managed to get far in this project, I hope the series marks a new starting point for Studio Orange.” With that, Waki ββconcluded his interview Trigun Stampedewhich therefore seems to be a much loved and carefully executed project.
