One of the hottest franchises of the 90s is returning. From July 29th Transformers: War for Cybertron – Kingdom eventually appeared with a spectacular trailer that was posted on Netflix’s YouTube channel.
The collaboration between the toy company Hasbro and the streaming giant Netflix was born War for Cybertron trilogy, an ambitious multimedia project that brought the Transformers brand back into fashion.
The previous two animated series delved into the history of the Autobots and the Decepticons, showing how Optimus Prime and Megatron, the respective leaders of the two factions, went from friends to eternal rivals. To their war that resulted in the Transformers homeworld, Cybertron, being torn apart in season two, the Predacons are added.
The Predacons are different from the normal transformers, who turn giant robots into a wide variety of vehicles they turn into animals, mostly prehistoric. However, these new entries appear to be dominated by the Golden Disc owned by Megatron. Is that the end of the Autobots?
Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy – Kingdom is produced by Rooster Teeth Productions for Netflix. The animation studio responsible for the third and final work in the trilogy is Polygon Pictures. Here’s the second series, Earthrise, in a trailer.
