The studies Toei animation released the five-minute short film entitled URVANvia his official YouTube channel. The launch was originally scheduled for the premiere last January but has been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Toei Animation’s new intellectual property research and development team, BUT ((Prototyping and experimental research in the Oizumi studio) was responsible for the production of the short film, which will also be broadcast TV Sasebo in co-operation with Kyushu Tele-Communications. The sequence takes place in Sasebo City, Nagasaki Prefecture.
In fact, instead of going to the website, Toei animation created the scenarios based on landscape photos and used the web conferencing service Zoom and the file sharing service box to produce the animation remotely. The employees built in Sasebo’s local resources, including specialty products, as well as cyberpunk culture and action elements, to create the new intellectual property.

- Yuuichi Tsuzuki was responsible for the direction in the studies Toei animation.
- Shintaro Fukase is credited as products while Yasuharu Takanashi was responsible for the composition of the soundtrack.
- Sachi Suzuki was responsible for the character design and was also responsible for the animation direction while Maya Kasai was responsible for the artistic direction.
Production of this short began last spring, but the COVID-19 pandemic made it difficult for staff to conduct on-site investigations and explore locations. Due to limitations, staff used a new production method in collaboration with the humanities faculties at Nagasaki International University and Hitoshi Oba International Tourism Seminar.
