Star Comics is one of the most famous editorial realities of the Japanese comic world at the Bel Paese. After all, it is the distribution of ONE PIECE manga, My Hero Academia and many other famous masterpieces of Japanese culture. Despite this, the market seems to have forced higher prices on the company.
After the numerous announcements that have marked Lucca Comics & Games, the publisher has launched an internal program to pay the bills that are weighing on the company's coffers due to the increased cost of raw materials and procurement due to rising energy prices. Actually through a press release Star Comics has announced a price increase effective January 1, 2023.
The increases can be summarized in the following list:
- Format 11.5x17.5, B, without dust jacket and without flaps: €5.20
- Size 11.5x17.5, B, with flaps: €5.50
- Format 11.5x17.5, B, with envelope: €5.90
- Size 12.8x18, B, with jacket: €6.50
- Format 14.5x21, B, with dust jacket: €7.50 (luxury editions are not included in this range)
The editor points out that the plans in question only concern the months of January and February and it is not certain that the new line will continue in the second quarter of 2023. And you on the other hand, what do you think of these prices going up? Let us know with a comment below.
