In the title of the fourth volume of the light novels by Daisuke Aizawa and illustrated by Touzai, Kage neither Jitsuryokusha nor Naritakute! ((The Eminence in the Shadow) the production of an anime adaptation was announced. Further details will be announced shortly.
Aizawa and Touzai began to publish the light novels through the publisher Kadokawa in November 2018. The publisher released the third volume in July 2019 and will release the fourth on February 26th in Japan. A manga adaptation by Anri Sakano is published in the journal Monthly Comp Ace since December 2018, with four volumes to date and the fifth planned for February 26th.
Finally, a spin-off manga written and illustrated by Mushroom U.titled Kage no Jitsuryokusha nor Naritakute!: Shadow Gaiden ((The Eminence in the Shadow: Shadow Side Story) is published through the magazine Monthly Comp Ace since July 2019.

While Cid pretends to be just another filler character, he is recruiting members of his (fake) organization “Shadow Garden” with the aim of ending a mysterious cult that lurks in the shadows. His (wrong) organization against the disgusting (but surprisingly real) cult of Diabolos.
