On the official site for the new animated manga adaptation, written and illustrated by Natsuki Takaya, Fruit basketFor the third and final season of the project, a new promotional image has been released that bears the title Fruit basket: the finale. The statement also reported that the series was scheduled to premiere in Japan this coming April.

The first season of 25 episodes premiered in Japan in April 2019, followed by a second season of 25 episodes in April 2020. This new adaptation of the Fruits Basket manga features an entirely new cast and production crew, just like you, Takaya asked. In contrast to the 2001 adaptation, this time all events of the manga are dealt with.

  • Masaru Shindou ((Macross Ξ”, Oregairu) is responsible for the character design.

Fruit basket synopsis

After a family tragedy turned her life upside down, student Tohru Honda decides to face the problem with her own hands and moves ... into a tent! Unfortunately, she makes her new home on the grounds of the mysterious Sohma clan, and it doesn't take long for the owners to discover her secret. At the same time that Tohru discovers that the family will offer to take them into their enclosures, she also realizes that the Sohma have their own secret: and that is, when touched by the opposite sex, they become the animals of the zodiac !
