On the official page for the series created by Masaki Kajishima and directed by Hiroki Hayashi, Tenchi Muyo!A new promotional video has been released for the release of the fourth Blu-ray of the fifth season of Tenchi Muyo! Ryo ohki.
The launch is scheduled for November 27th in Japan. The full release schedule (all with a single episode) is planned as follows:
- Volume 1: February 28, 2020.
- Volume 2: May 29, 2020.
- Volume 3: August 28, 2020.
- Volume 4: November 27, 2020.
- Volume 5: February 26, 2021.
- Volume 6: May 28, 2021.
Originally Tenchi Muyo! Ryo Ohki is the title of an OVA released in 1992 that was the first to appear in a multimedia franchise with numerous sequels and spin-offs. The OVA followed Tenchi Muyo! Ryo Ohki Dai-2-Ki (the second season) and by Tenchi Muyo! Ryo Ohki Dai-3-Ki (the third season).
Recently the fourth season of OVAs was titled Tenchi Muyo! Ryo Ohki Dai-4-Ki It debuted in 2016 after 11 years of franchise inactivity. The season consisted of four episodes, the last one being released in September 2017.

Synopsis of Tenchi Muyo! Ryo ohki
Seventeen-year-old Tenchi Masaki grew up hearing the stories of how his ancestors sealed a demon in a cave with a sword seven hundred years ago. When curiosity seizes him, Tenchi goes into the cave and comes across the sword of legend. Thinking the story is nothing more than a fairy tale, he removes the sword and accidentally releases the demon who turns out to be a space pirate named Ryouko Hakubi. Angry about being trapped for so long, she attacks Tenchi, but is repelled by the sword and awakens her inner strength. After that, Ryouko becomes interested in his unlikely rescue and decides to live with him.
