The Japanese distribution company Animate revealed the distribution information for the Blu-ray / DVD compilation packages of the animated manga adaptation, written and illustrated by Rui Takatou, Light Blue Dot Battle Athletess Daiundoukai Reboottitled Battle Athletess Daiundoukai restart!. This also revealed that the series will have a total of twelve episodes.

  • Package 1 (episodes 1-3) – May 14, 2021.
  • Package 2 (episodes 4 to 6) – June 18, 2021.
  • Package 3 (episodes 7 to 9) – July 16, 2021.
  • Package 4 (episodes 10-12) – August 13, 2021.

The series premieres on April 10th in Japan. In addition, the manga’s prologue made its debut on the website Comic Ruelle & Comic Jardin of Jitsugyo no Nihon Sha in June 2020 and the first compiled volume was released in December 2020. The original OVA series, Martial artist Daiundoukai was released in Japan between 1997 and 1998.

Synopsis of Battle Athletess Daiundoukai restart!

This new manga features an entirely new story based on the original work. The original sports and science fiction story takes place in 5100, when elite athletes from across the solar system battle for “Cosmic Beauty,” the champion of a huge sports tournament. The prologue chapter introduces new competitors.
