The producers of the video game Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris, Yosuke Futami of Bandai Namco Entertainment and Satoshi Hirayae of Aquria, commented on the “scenes in bed” of the video game during an interview with the magazine Weekly Famitsu from the publisher Kadokawa.
- Yosuke Futami: “I’m not really a fan of “bed scenes”, and would rather show characters in other kinds of interactions in their daily lives. I think it’s okay to relate to other characters besides Asuna, but sleeping together doesn’t seem natural [risas]“
- Yosuke Futami: “I would also like to totally prevent this from becoming a habit“
- Satoshi Hirayae: “I don’t think it was necessary, but I guess some players will see it as a motivation“
- Yosuke Futami: “I actually found out that several players disliked these scenes, so this time we removed the scenes in bed from the unlockable achievement list“
Finally, producer Yosuke Futami pointed out that there is still a large amount of additional content for the video game that will be announced soon:
- Yosuke Futami: “Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris will be packed with content for players to enjoy for an entire year. There will be many additional contents that we cannot reveal at the moment“
For its part, the video game was released for consoles Playstation 4 and Xbox One in Japan earlier today, and it will be released globally for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC via Steam next July 10.
