One of the most influential producers in certain areas of Japanese animation, the famous Susumu Yoshikawa, died last Friday at 6 a.m. in his home in Kamakura, Kanagawa Prefecture. The news was given to the media by his wife Yoshiko.

But what really made Yoshikawa famous is the fact that he is still considered to be one of the creators of the Super Sentai subgenre, which works like the Knights of the Zodiac, Sailor Moon and also Power Rangers as well as the Metal Herowho contributed enormously to Toei’s rise to one of the best animation studios.
