Via the official website for the original anime Shin Tennis no Ouji-sama: Hyoutei vs. Rikkai – game of the futureIt has been announced that this release will be split into two parts, which will air between February and March 2021. However, it is not known what format this anime will be in, although everything indicates that it could be a premiere in Japanese theaters.
A new image for the anime was also revealed.
Commemorating the twentieth anniversary of the anime adaptation, the project will feature an original story mentored by the manga’s author, Takeshi Konomi, which will compete these two schools against each other for the first time.

- Mitsutaka Hirota ((Anime Gataris, Nanbaka) is responsible for writing and monitoring the scripts.

About tennis no Ouji-sama
The franchise began as a manga series that was written and illustrated by Takeshi konomi and published in the magazine Weekly shonen jump by Shueisha-Verlag between July 1999 and March 2008 with 379 chapters and 42 compilation volumes.
The piece previously inspired an anime adaptation of Takayuki Hamana in the studies Trans Arts and Production I.G.178 episodes were shown that were broadcast between October 2001 and March 2005, as well as an animated film. The series continued its story through three seasons of OVAs released in April 2006, June 2007 and January 2008, respectively.
However, the franchise has also been adapted in numerous other media. Since April 2003, more than fifteen pieces based on the series have been produced. An animated film was released in 2005 and a live-action film in 2006. The franchise also features a radio broadcast, numerous video games, and more than 250 original songs and CDs. In January 2012 alone, the manga had 51 million copies in circulation.
It wasn’t until March 2009 that a sequel to the manga was titled New prince of tennis ((Shin Tennis no Ouji-sama) in the magazine Jump SQ from the publisher ShueishaThe story takes place a few months after the original manga ended.
Summary
The world of tennis is cruel and very competitive. Numerous schools in Japan compete for the best of all. Seishun High School, better known as Seigaku, is one of the most famous competitors in the battle for the best players. His team won’t get stronger until a young western prodigy named Ryouma Echizen, determined to emerge from the shadow of his father’s success, joins the team.
The story follows the warm and inspiring life of Ryouma on his way to becoming one of the best tennis players in Japan. He tries so hard one day to surpass his father’s name and his own expectations.
