Masaoki Shindo is a mangaka who has been circulating in Shueisha's stable for quite some time. He has featured in various shonen-style oneshots over the years in the various magazines. A few months ago he finally managed to achieve his dream of being published in Weekly Shonen Jump RuriDragon. Unfortunately, there have also been some setbacks.

The first chapters of RuriDragon were well received in Japan, but also on MangaPlus, with many visits. This also allowed the author to get a color page on Weekly Shonen Jump, a page dedicated only to the most popular series. However, despite his young age and this success, Masaoki Shindo seems to have some health problems.

Two weeks ago a chapter's release was skipped, while now RuriDragon will be paused indefinitely. Weekly Shonen Jump shared a note explaining that the mangaka is in very poor health and unable to draw. The choice was shared between the author and the editors to allow the former to recover and be fit for the future.

In the meantime, the magazine asks fans to wait for the return of the series and with it the adventures of the little dragon Ruri and to inform about it in the future Return of RuriDragon as soon as possible.
