As a previous leak had shown, a fourth season of the animated adaptation of the light novels written by was produced during a special broadcast Kugane Maruyama and illustrated by so-am, Overlord. The statement also mentioned the production of a feature film entitled Overlord: Be an ookoku hen whose name refers to the “Arch of the Holy Kingdom” from the original light novels.

While the special did not announce the cast and staff of the new film project, the anime’s cast members, Hino, Hara, and Uesaka made the announcement and included messages from the anime’s director and script supervisor. Itou added that the staff are already working hard on the new project.

Synopsis of Overlord
Yggdrasil is a virtual reality game known for its freedom. Following a simple tutorial, players can explore the world and customize everything from their classes to their weapons. However, in 2138, the game sees its final hours when its servers close at midnight.
A devoted Yggdrasil player, Momonga decides to spend the final hours of the game in his guild, Ainz Ooal Gown. Interestingly enough, the game doesn’t separate you at midnight. Instead, Momonga is transported to another world that is seemingly identical to Yggdrasil. Faced with an already abnormal situation, he discovers that the NPCs have become more sensitive. Trapped in the skeleton of his avatar, Momonga is desperate to discover the cause of his situation and to find other players like him. With the help of his loyal subjects, he sets out to take control of the new world.
