ONE PIECE: Oda shows a preview of the cover of volume 98

In addition to the weekly publication on Weekly Shonen Jump, the ONE PIECE Manga will also be published in a Tankobon version, or in the small volume that will then arrive in Italy and contain various chapters and extras. Number 97 release dates back a few months while it will debut in 2021 ONE PIECE Volume 98.

There are still a few weeks left considering this tankobon will hit Japanese comics and stores on February 4th, 2021. However, it is necessary that the mangaka Eiichiro Oda prepare the illustration that lands on the tankobon in good time. As has been the case for some time, the author has been sharing the first drafts on the cover of ONE PIECE 98.

It does this with both a final snapshot, which is used to help you understand the composition and colors, and a video that shows the entire creation process. Below we see the two tweets in question, with the first showing What will be the final composition;; The second instead shows us the beginning of the composition, particularly with Luffy and Yamato, who seem to have caused problems for the designers. The cover slowly takes shape in the video until it reaches its final version, which Oda then reproduces on paper.

Volume 98 will not contain the expected chapter 1000 of ONE PIECE, but should contain numbers from 985 to 994 instead. In Japan, the magazine is about to make its debut ONE PIECE 1001.
