A work like ONE PIECE made Eiichiro Oda one of the most followed and feared manga writers in the industry. Shueisha has hired several editors over the years to assist the author in his work, many of whom kept telling funny anecdotes about his quirky ways of working.
In August 2017, it was organized in a Tokyo Tower Café a talk show attended by many editors, and thanks to direct participation in the event, a fan of the series, user @sandman_AP, was able to gather and then share information with other fans that had never been leaked before. Even one of the editors, whose name is not given, slept while holding his cellphone on his chest on vibrate mode. A habit that has created phantom vibration syndrome over time. Also, Kawashima recalled his shocking first meeting with Oda, where the Master told him, “be willing to die for ONE PIECE. If your health deteriorates due to overwork, I will take care of your family financially“.
