Mushoku Tensei: Unemployed Reincarnation ended on November 25, 2022 with the release of the 26th light novel. Rifujin na Magonote had already talked about a hypothetical sequel that will appear when the Rudeus story anime ends, but the series finale seems to have left plenty of narrative freedom for the future.
Despite fierce competition from Isekai works, one of the most followed and discussed genres in recent years, Mushoku Tensei has managed to create its own circle of enthusiasts, many of whom have stayed impressed by the surprise on the closing pages of the last novel. Rudeus has achieved his ultimate goal and shown himself to be a true hero, but what surprised readers has to do with his three marriages and the epilogue.
As a matter of fact, Rudeus marries three heroines: Sylphiette, Eris and Roxy with whom he has six children, Lucy, Lara, Ars, Sieghart, Lily and Eris who will most likely return in the sequel. The story ends with the Death of Rudeus, quietly, at the age of 74.
