The organization of the 44th Japan Academy Film Prize recently announced that the mangaka and character designer Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, known for his work on Mobile Suit Gundam, will soon receive a major Lifetime Achievement Award, reserved only for the best Japanese artists of the 20th and 21st centuries.

Yasuhiko started her animation career at Mushi Productions In 1970 he drew the characters from the 1971 series Sasurai no Taiyou (Nozomi in the sun). He later started working with Yoshiyuki Tomino to Gundam mobile suit before and Space battleship Yamato Then we work on both the innovative character design and the script. The jury of the Japan Academy Film Prize has decided to award the author Special price for lifetime achievement next March 19, the day the annual edition of the event will take place. Last year the award went to character designers Yoichi Katabe (Pokémon) and Tetsuo Kaneko (Ghost in the Shell).

The Japan Academy Film Award is considered the Japanese Oscar and is the highest form of recognition for products and characters related to the entertainment world in the East. Last year, the award for best picture went to Weathering With You, while the nominations have not yet been announced this year.
