At a special event held a few hours ago for the franchise's 10th anniversary Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica ((Puella Magi Madoka Magica) the production of a new animated film was announced. The tape is titled Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica: Walpurgis no Kaiten ((Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Walpurgis no Kaiten) and its production will be in charge of the studios wave. The release date for this new project has not yet been announced.

- Akiyuki Shinbo ((Nisekoi, Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica) is responsible for directing the feature film in the studios wave.
- Gen Urobuchi ((Destiny / Zero, Psycho Pass) is responsible for writing and monitoring the scripts.
- The character designs will be responsible for Junichiro Taniguchi Y. Ume Aoki (Drafts).
- The soundtrack falls back into the hands of the renowned composer Yuki Kajiura.
The original anime was created by the creative group Magica Quartet, consisting of the director Akiyuki Shinbo, the screenwriter Gen Urobuchi, the character designer Ume Aoki and the producer Atsuhiro Iwakamiand it aired on January 7, 2011 for a total of twelve episodes. The work has inspired a variety of spin-off mangas, novels, and video games, some of which have inspired their own anime adaptations.
Summary of Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica
Madoka Kanami and Sayaka Miki are normal high school girls with normal lives, but all of that changes when they meet Kyuubey, a magical cat-like creature, and Homura Akemi, the new transfer student. Kyuubey offers them a proposal: he will grant each of their wishes and in return each of them will become a magical girl (Mahou Shoujo) who will receive the power to make their dreams come true.
However, Homura Akemi, who is already a magical girl, tells her not to take the offer, stating that it is not as good as it sounds. Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica is a story of hope, despair and friendship, the difficulties of becoming and being a magical girl, and the high price that must be paid to make a dream come true.
