"Never, you will never forget / The moment, the earth, which trembled / The air burned and then the silence". For many of you, these words, straight from Ken the Warrior's 1986 Italian theme song, are still unforgettable. But how were they born? The musician talked about it Claudio Maiolito the microphones of a few hours ago The Republic.

""I have known RCA since the 1970s because of my debut with Battisti"said Maioli in the service of Antonio Nasso,"and in the early 1980s, I was still in the same environment with unauthorized orders. One day the songwriters asked me about Ken and showed me a short trailer. I finished the verse I had recorded it as a promotional jingle attempt for a brand of rubber tablets then who didn't go to the port!".

The singer continued to talk about the success of the series: "The extraordinary thing is that when I auditioned, the director didn't ask me if I wanted to sing it, but really said: "you sing that". I had no solo experience. I only knew about the success of the series later because I honestly didn't see an episode at the time".

Maioli then spent a few words about his relationship with fans and sang a short extract from the theme song. Below is the link to watch the full video.

And what do you think about it? Do you remember Ken's initials? Let us know with a comment! If you are interested in this type of interview, we remind you that La Repubblica released another one last week with Clara Serina, author of the title song by Lady Oscar.
