A generational work like Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure is immensely complicated, between connections between masks and certain objects, capable of rewinding time, and a bloodline, that of Joestars, that continues to appear in different places around the world.

We follow the saga of Jojo’s bizarre adventure with both the already animated series and those waiting to be adapted to understand theirs Period of setting and creation of a timeline.

We could start as early as prehistoric times, when Kars, Esidisi, Santana and Wamoo were born, and the moment the asteroid that created the arrows that give the powers of the Estates struck Earth in Greenland. But let’s go instead to the last years of the 19th century, when Jonathan Joestar and Dio Brando were born. The story of Jojo’s bizarre adventure begins in 1880: Phantom Blood, the events of which, however, will explode with the battle between Jojo and Dio in particular in 1888. In 1889 the ship on which Jojo and Elena were sunk and only the woman is saved.

Joseph Joestar was born in 1920, after Jojo and protagonist of the Battle Tendency. The true story of the second saga takes place over a two-year period between 1938 and 1939. At this point, Joseph will meet Caesar, he will encounter the men of the pillar, he will meet his mother Lisa again and learn the Concentric Waves technique that fights to save the world from Kars.

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusader begins in 1988 and we are immediately introduced to the stands with Joseph and his nephew Jotaro Kujo, the third yo-yo protagonist. The journey that will lead them to God will last until January 1989. Diamond is Unbreakable begins just ten years later, this time with Josuke Higashikata. The boy, born in 1983, will live his life in Moriocho, but the full story will take place in just one year, 1999.

We then return to Italy with Jojo’s bizarre adventure: Vento Aureo. Giorno Giovanna, son of Dio Brando with the body of Jonathan Joestar, makes his debut in the series as the fifth Jojo. The his meeting with Koichi is on March 29, 2001April 6, 2001 is the date of the devil’s defeat that will lead Giorno to lead the Passion. Essentially, Vento Aureo covers the events of a single week as opposed to the previous series which covered longer periods of time.

Let’s move on to the sixth series where Stone Ocean is still waiting for an anime. Another ten years have passed since the events of Vento Aureo and there we find therefore in 2011At this point, Jolyne Kujo was arrested. The story will also last a few months here between 2011 and 2012 and end with the work of Made in Heaven and the death of Enrico Pucci.

However, the events triggered by Made in Heaven lead us straight to an alternate timeline that featured the Steel Ball Run, a horse race that also gives its name to the seventh series of Jojo’s bizarre adventures. Different settings, different characters, e.g. back to the 19th centurymore precisely 1890 and 1891.

Finally, the eighth series is still running. Jojolion is final and may have timeline changes, but we definitely know that the series so far took place in the 2011 Alternative Moriocho. While we wait to find out how this series will end and if there will be another sequel to Jojo’s bizarre adventure, we’ve seen Hirohiko Araki create a story that will last very long and set everywhere.
