In 2020, Japan’s new copyright law came into effect, a phenomenon that initially turned out to be a real disaster as even official artists blocked their social networks due to the presence of hidden images through copyright law.
Lately the situation seems to have improved and publishers have finally turned their attention to all those websites and users posting copyrighted material on the internet in an attempt to identify the roots of the phenomenon. Even the editor of The Attack of the Giants pays close attention to the case to ensure a dignified ending to the masterpiece of Hajime Isayama.
Last week the Tokyo District Court enforced new copyright laws against a website accused of being included in the transcript of over 60 chapters by Kengan Ashura complete with pictures. The publisher’s lawyer Shogakukan commented on the matter as “epochal decision“, a way to hit directly with pirated websites that have grown dramatically recently thanks in part to the pandemic that has forced many users to stay at home. We don’t know how far the investigation will go now It is true that copyright laws have already started to grind their fruits as arrests and heavy fines have been reported in recent months.
On the other hand, what do you think of this situation? Let us know what you think about this with a comment below.
