Mangakas are often secret these days, only revealing bits of their lives in comments and confiding their thoughts in a few posts on Twitter. There are very few who appear on TV with their face uncovered or in photos, see for example the secrecy of Eiichiro Oda, author of ONE PIECE. But once upon a time This was not the case with the writers of Shonen Jump.
Among the numerous front pages that the magazine dedicates to its most prominent protagonists every week, Weekly Shonen Jump also dedicates special covers. Sometimes these group all the protagonists of the manga in the magazine, sometimes they are dedicated to very special occasions. Today we tell you about one of these occasions.
Issue 05-06 of the 1993 Weekly Shonen Jump, published January 25, 1993, was one of the last such releases Covers with mangaka in sight. In the photo, as you can see below, everyone is smartly dressed in a suit and bow tie, holding a trophy with the stylized pirate statuette used as Jump’s mascot. The cause for celebration was simply the arrival of 1993, with all the wishes of the case from the 22 manga released.
