It was reported to be the first Blu-ray / DVD volume of the second season of the animated manga adaptation Hataraku Saibou ((Cells at work!) barely reached 1,250 copies in the first week since its introduction.
This volume was released on February 3rd in Japan and contains only the first episode of this second season. The Blu-ray version costs 4,400 yen (about $ 42) and has sold 760 copies. The DVD version costs 3,300 yen (about $ 32) and has sold 490 copies. The package includes other benefits such as a drama CD, voiceover commentary, an illustration booklet and a priority pass for purchasing tickets for a future franchise event.
This second season has been broadcast in Japan since January 9th and has been confirmed with a total of eight episodes. The series will be broadcast parallel to the animated adaptation of the spin-off manga Hataraku Saibou Blackthat is produced by a different studio, but is broadcast consecutively in the same program block.
