Introduced for the first time during Anime Expo 2019, Gibiate should have been a good man, especially taking into account the names of the authors involved in the project. The anime was released on Crunchyroll last summer, and against all odds received a host of harsh criticism from western fans.

On the famous web portal MyAnimeListGibiate recently set a negative record the lowest rated anime everwith a user rating of 3.99 / 10. There are series with lower ratings on the site, but of these, Gibiate is the only one that has already closed.

In the event that out of curiosity you want to know what this is about, we remind you that the plot summary is as follows: “2030, Japan. A dangerous virus called “Gibier” has now spread all over the world. Once infected, patients become dangerous monsters and their shape changes depending on their age, gender and nationality. One day, a samurai and a shinobi from the Edo era appear in the post-apocalyptic ruins of Japanese society after embarking on a long journey through time. The two will team up with a doctor to save humanity“.

Gibiate is Crunchyroll’s first annual flopwho, outside of the shonen of Yuzo Koshiro and Yoshitaka Amano, has published almost exclusively anime of great importance. However, in the course of 2021, another series could share the same fate, namely the science fiction of Visual Flight EX-ARM.

Gibiate breaks another record (for the worse, of course) as it becomes the first full-length TV anime series to fall below 4.00 on r / anime’s MyAnimeList
