Neon Genesis Evangelion marked part of the history of the Japanese animation industry, and after completing the ambitious Rebuild of Evangelion tetralogy, the work conceived by Hideaki Anno will soon be making waves again thanks to a very special event. In fact, a charity auction entirely dedicated to the series has been announced.
By title Evangelion Thanksgiving Festival, the initiative will be characterized by the presence of rather rare collectibles that will arouse the interest of passionate collectors of the franchise. This will coincide with the Winter Season Wonder Festival 2023 February 12 at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba this auction will take place with four coveted products up for grabs.
Specifically, as you can see from the image below, they are: a cuddly pillow that could be won with the purchase of the UCC Evangelion coffee cans, dating back to the series' first major collaboration in 1997; a shirt with a 3D EVA-01 on the chest; two Microman figures of Asuka and Rei; exclusive figures of Wonder Festival mascots Wonda-chan and Reset-chan.
Part of the auction proceeds will be invested Anime culture preservation and special effects, of which Hideaki Anno is a big supporter and enthusiast. Let us know what you think of this initiative and if you are interested in some of the products up for auction in the comments.
