Chapter 66 of Dragon Ball Super had a truly unexpected conclusion, a welcome surprise given the sudden fan base reaction to the release of the chapter’s first spoilers. The final confrontation with Molo turned out to be more interesting than expected and also highlighted a major limitation of the wizard.

The clash between Goku and Molo had partially ended in Chapter 65 of Dragon Ball Super. After Goku received the Ultra Complete Instinct, he showed himself to be enormously superior to the opponent. E. The fight ends over a simple matter of strength difference. Despite its great power, Planet Eater cannot compete with a Divine Ki user, as Beerus himself implicitly confirms in the last chapter.

In contrast to other antagonists such as Cell, Majin Buu or the newer Zamasu, however Molo gets a second chance. After absorbing a considerable amount of energy, the wizard can survive tens of millions of years and eventually could have used new ways to escape the control of the Galactic Patrol.

The antagonist decides to try to win in an impossible situation and absorbs the power of Merus. At this point, Molo received Divine Ki without ever exercising his body. He has to manage an amount of power that exceeds all expectations. The power of the gods can only be harnessed by the gods of destruction and very few other warriors, and even Goku finds himself repeatedly after facing hundreds of battles and toning his body through impossible battles suffer the effects during the tournament of power.

The final chapter of Dragon Ball Super shows the real consequences of using the power of the gods, which apparently are not simple physical deformations. How the minutes go by Molo completely loses his headand at that very moment his life ends regardless of the outcome of the battle.

Molo eventually eliminated himself in a quote about the first fight between Goku and Freeza. Spared from the antiyajin, the antagonist could have saved himself from the Namek explosion and got a second chance, but his pride led him to end his own life.

The collision with Molo underlines once again how far it still goes before they reach the level of Beerus or any other god of destruction. This is not a difference that can be bridged with a simple transformation, and the perfect control that Goku wields in his final form shows the great strides that have been made in the final storylines.
