Get hyped 'cause Toei Animation just dropped a sick promo vid for "Dragon Ball Daima" at the "Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour" event. It's all about our main man, Son Goku, and it's hitting screens in Japan's Fall 2024 (October-December) season.

The Dragon Ball craze kicked off in '84 when Akira Toriyama's epic manga debuted in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump, and it's been slaying the game for over ten and a half years. Fast forward, and the manga's still smashing records with a whopping 260 million copies sold worldwide and counting.

With Dragon Ball's ever-growing clout, it's blasted beyond manga to TV shows, movies, games, and all that sweet merch. Now, 39 years post the OG manga drop, Dragon Ball keeps leveling up and smashing new milestones.

Daniel Castañeda, the licensing boss at Toei Animation in Latin America, let slip last October that "Dragon Ball Daima" is gonna be a tight twenty-episode run.

Production Squad Goals

"Dragon Ball Daima" is directed by Yoshitaka Yashima and Aya Komaki, with Yuko Kakihara writing the script, and Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru designing the characters. The show features intense action and adorable battles, as Goku and friends uncover new world mysteries.

  • Yoshitaka Yashima (Digimon Adventure, ONE PIECE FILM: STRONG WORLD, Digimon Tamers) and Aya Komaki (ONE PIECE, Marie & Gali, Gegege no Kitarou (2007)) are the boss directors at Toei Animation.
  • Yuuko Kakihara (Orange, Hataraku Saibou, Asobi Asobase, Mairimashita! Iruma-kun) is the scriptwriting and supervising genius.
  • Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru (Dragon Ball Z, Digimon Adventure, Dragon Ball GT, Rakuen Tsuihou: Expelled From Paradise) is the character design and animation direction maestro.

Akira Toriyama Spills on Dragon Ball Daima

Akira Toriyama is personally involved in "Dragon Ball Daima," ensuring the quality and authenticity fans expect. Goku's iconic Power Pole returns, with new and exciting challenges ahead.

"Hey, it's Akira Toriyama here. I'm cooking up a fresh Dragon Ball dish. The name's “Dragon Ball DAIMA”. “DAIMA” means something like “evil” in Japanese. 'Cause of some shady plot, Son Goku and the crew get kiddified. To fix this mess, they're off to a new world! It's a wild ride with intense action in a mysterious realm."

"Since Goku's dealing with being pint-sized, he's back swinging the “Magic Staff” in fights, a throwback we haven't seen in ages. I've dreamt up the story, settings, and a bunch of designs. I'm grinding harder than ever! We'll unravel Dragon Ball world mysteries. Get ready for battles that are cute yet fierce, unlike anything before!"

If you're all about that Saiyan life, you can't miss this. Share with your squad, and let's get ready to power up with Goku and the gang in "Dragon Ball Daima"! It's gonna be lit!
