Denji is pretty unlucky with women. Chainsaw Man's protagonist always had a bad time for one reason or another. Makima was a demonic and manipulative woman who kept him on a leash to the end, Himeno puked in his mouth, Power lied to him about push-ups, and Reze was even more violent.
Part 2 of Chainsaw Man could change things for the protagonist. The boy has found a school, is trying to save money for Nayuta and is enjoying student life with a few goals in mind. At Asa's request he even went out with her and ended up in an aquarium on a date, but things didn't go the way it was supposed to. Due to the Devil Eternity forcing everyone to get stuck in an endless corridor like what happened at the hotel in the first outing of the government organization with Aki, Power and Himeno.
Asa, using the power of the Fel War, managed to break the curse of the Fel Eternals, freeing everyone and killing the enemy. The ending seemed to finally make both Denji and Asa happy: the girl seemed to have fallen in love with the protagonist while he finally ended a date without being killed or having his limbs cut off. That was until Yoru came back at the end of the date: The war devil has understood Asa's feelings and can finally use them to create a weapon.
So the last page of Chainsaw Man Chapter 117 has a Cliffhanger where Denji almost dies due to the transformation into a weapon. What will Chainsaw Man 118 tell and what fate will there be for the protagonist? Will he die or be saved on his own?
