AstroBoy literally wrote the history of Japanese animation. Not so much because it's the work of the genius of Osamu Tezuka, the legendary mangaka, but also because it's one of the first animes ever to be regularly broadcast on television. After 40 years since the last series, the opera returns with a special project.

Despite its longevity and criticism from Takahata, Astro Boy is a title that has been able to renew itself, for example by entering the NFT market. In 1963, episode 1 was broadcast in black and white for the first time, a production that stayed with fans until 1966. A few years later, the series was adapted into 52 episodes and achieved incredible success in a color version at home.

More than 40 years since the last remake Tezuka Productions is willing to propose again Astro Boy with a reboot along with the director of Wonder, Thomas Astruc. At the moment there is no information about the series, such as the release date and the entire staff, but the anime will consist of 52 episodes in total. At the bottom of the news, you can check out some of the first promotional images released in connection with the official announcement.

And you, on the other hand, will you take this opportunity to revive a historical series? Let us know with a comment below.
