During Aniplex Online Fest, it was announced that Yutaka Narui, who previously worked on theatrical projects featuring the Shinsengumi characters, would create a new Original anime titled Inherit the Winds (Kaze Wo Tsugumon) set in Kyoto during the Bakumatsu period. This announcement has excited fans with its source material and production pedigree.
The story centers on a soldier who loses his memories and is rescued by the famous member of Shinsengumi, Sōji Okita. He then discovers he’s known as Junke Tachikawa, beginning a new life among other soldiers in Mibu.
A history of honor and rediscovery
The anime presents an intriguing scenario: a man without memory forging his destiny alongside the Shinsengumi. It promises to explore human ties, loyalty, and identity within this historical context.
