Akira Toriyama was born on April 5, 2021 in Nagoya, one of the most populous cities in Japan and an important center of the Chubu region. Hence today Akira Toriyama is 66 years old. The mangaka is still working on Dragon Ball Super today, following the highly acclaimed success of the past few decades with Toyotaro.

Akira Toriyama influenced generations of readers and mangaka with his Dragon Ball. The best known include Eiichiro Oda from ONE PIECE, Masashi Kishimoto from Naruto, Tite Kubo from Bleach and many others. Toriyama started his career like many other young people with high hopes and suggested himself Weekly Shonen Jump with some self-contained stories. It was Wonder Island that earned him his first hits on the magazine’s big stage.

Just a few years later, Dr. Slump, his great success, which already consecrated him in Japan. Despite the initial success, he did not stop under pressure from his editor and switched genre to devote himself more to combat. Inspired by the legend of Son Wukong, Dragon Ball was born, having entertained readers around the world for over a decade.

To this day, the mangaka is still working on Dragon Ball Super and all of Shueisha’s side projects that concern the world of Goku and his companions. Greetings Sensei Toriyama!
