The new Silk series announced by Marvel Comics is about to start. Thanks to the new preview released by CBR we have the opportunity to discover the incipit of the first installment of the series (out January 19, 2022) that sees Cindy Moon is back in action after a three-month time warp.
In the preview, Silk is about to foil a bank robbery when she meets Lucas, a streamer willing to put himself at risk to get likes and views. It appears that Social media will be one of the central themes of this run, although details about the threats Cindy Moon will face have not yet been announced.
Silk #1 was created by screenwriter Emily Kim and artist Takeshi Miyazawa, while the cover art (which we suggest below along with the preview at the bottom of the article) is by Inhyuk Lee. The character of Silk was created by Dan Slott and Humberto Ramos in 2014’s The Amazing Spider-Man #1. Cindy Moon was bitten by the same spider that bit Peter Parker, but unlike Spider-Man, she lived for years in a prison built by Ezekiel to prevent the psychic vampire Morlun from finding her.
The history of the origin of Silk is associated with the famous Ragnoverso event, which was one of the inspirations for the latest web weaving cinematic adventure (here is our review of Spider Man No Way Home). Production of a live-action series dedicated to Cindy Moon is underway: here are the latest Amazon Prime Video Silk series rumours.
