Act-Age writer Tatuya Matsuki was arrested a few days ago for child molestation. Then Shueisha stopped the serialization of the manga, as it should be, and a few hours ago the theater show planned for 2022 was even canceled.

The talent agency HoniPro apologized to the fans and released the following statement: “We took the arrest of the author Tatsuya Matsuki very seriously. As a result, after talking to everyone involved, we decided to cancel the play Act-Age: Night on the Galactic Railroad and to stop the ongoing auditions for Kei Yonagi. We are terribly sorry for what happened and we are heartbroken knowing that many participants were eager to test themselves on this role. Thank you for your support and cooperation“.

Act-Age was due to get an anime adaptation and stage show within two years and was in prospect of one of the most promising series in Weekly Shonen Jump. The manga had also arrived in Italy thanks to the efforts of J-Pop, who were forced to stop distribution before Volume 4 was released.

The news certainly came as no surprise, but many candidates who are now sure of getting a job certainly have something to complain about. Unfortunately, the mangaka’s actions have affected many people’s lives as well as his incredible career.
